JackI'd like to design a website for you. Naturally, you'll want to check out my portfolio, so please double-click on any of the links to the left to see websites I've designed or re-designed.

Most of the sites you'll be viewing were conceptually developed by the owners, who already had pre-conceived ideas about content, backgrounds, fonts and colors, but coded by myself. For example, Glenrose Farms is my maiden site and my wife's business website. She knew she wanted a blue and gray combination, specific font and many photos accompanying her text.

The client who owns Rapidpins originally just wanted to update to her website with new product information, but pointed out that her original site's white background, simple fonts and lack of color were rather bland and allowed me free hand to redesign her website with her favorite color: green.

Some clients are very specific about their fonts and backgrounds, while others want a more minimalist approach to their appearance and prefer to emphasize their content. I take great pleasure in working with both kinds of clients.

In mid 2006 I updated all of my sites to be XHTML 1.0 compliant with at least a small amount of CSS included. I totally redesigned the German Shepherd Club of San Diego County website to be completely CSS orientated and designed the site with no tables. I also included a backup site for non-compliant browsers. This is an ongoing process. As I explore further into XHTML, I globally incorporate it into my sites. I no longer maintain the GSD website. In 2008 they decided tha they wanted a local member to maintain the site. For the most part it looks like they combined the most important things into one page and deleted the rest of the pages.

Later that year I learned about SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and used it to make Glenrosefarms.com the #1 return for a Google search on "Sheep dog training" + "san diego" now that we have moved to VA it is the #1 return for "Sheep dog training" + "va".

I also have a website that I didn't design, however I did set up a paypal payment system using XML and forms on the website in 2007. It is at http://www.rainbowhill.net/8x10.html. All of the price list pages on that site have a paypal buttons that I added to the site.

The Glenrosefarms website has examples of javascript in the menubar below the banner on every webpage. The dropdown menus are all written in javascript. The Glenrosefarms also has examples of Flash on the www.glenrosefarms.com/movies.htm page. All of the movies listed were created using Flash.

Most recently I completed a member's only site for Glenrosefarms herding clients in Australia at www.naturalherding.com. I am currently working on adding a blog to the website.

Concurrently I am working on some examples of MYSQL and PHP projects that can be found at www.naturalherding.com/Jack/PHP/ which is an example of a member login page and www.naturalherding.com/Jack/PHP2/ which is a example of a small art database.

One final word about my web sites - you'll notice that most of them are dog related and I am not originally a dog person. I did research on how best to present each breed of dog and/or dog activity represented within each website to the owner's specifications. I will do the same for your website no matter what the product or service. When you are ready to discuss how you would like to see your website designed, email me at the address below:
